The length of time that a child spends in therapy is dependent on his/her individual needs and the goals that have been established collaboratively between your family and your child’s therapist. The length of time is also dependent on follow-through and carry-over of targeted goals at home. A strong home component is essential in the success of therapy. Your child’s therapy sessions typically take place during his/her regular day at their childcare center. MTC staff is considerate of enrichment schedules, meals, outdoor play, etc. by finding a time for his/her sessions that works well within your child’s day and minimizes classroom disruptions. For some children that can be during the quiet time after lunch, or before or during rest time depending on his/her needs.
