What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation promoting healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” or in the “field of energy” around the person.  There is an unseen “life force energy” flowing through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stressed, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

What is Reiki Therapy?

  • Reiki Therapy is a functional stress relieving approach to help the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems of the body. The Reiki energy works to relieve stress and trauma coming from mental, emotional, or physical malalignments that are physiologically causing imbalances within the systems.
  • Reiki Therapists must be trained and hold a certificate. Our therapist is a certified Reiki Therapist with a Master’s in Occupational Therapy, teaching and implementing Reiki into current practices.
  • The Reiki energy is performed by ‘laying of hands’ on the physical body with the weight of a nickel and/or working within the integrated energy field that surrounds the physical structure of the body.
  • Reiki is “Life Force” energy bringing increased “Prana” (energy) to the body and promoting feelings of peace, security, & well-being.
  • Science has confirmed an energy field that extends to several feet around the human body constantly receiving and releasing energy. Reiki energy also works in this field to promote mental, emotional, and physical stability throughout enhancing the benefits of standard therapy services.
  • The Reiki Therapist works in structured sessions contributing to the client’s ability to achieve measurable goals. Current goal-centered treatment programs can be complemented with this therapeutic approach.

“Rei” meaning “Wisdom’ & “Ki” meaning “Life Force”
