Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT)

Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) is a goal-centered treatment in which a trained therapy animal team supports a child’s functional participation in daily activities. Throughout this treatment process, a therapy dog and a licensed therapist work together to support the achievement of measurable goals through a therapeutic treatment plan. This goal-centered treatment is individualized to provide physical, emotional, and psychosocial support for each and every child in the areas that are most important to them and their families.

Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT)

Our AAT team works alongside MTC’s standard therapy services, including ABA Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Feeding Therapy, and Counseling, to support our clients’ functional participation in daily activities through structured and goal-centered treatment plans. Our MTC therapy animal team works together to enhance the benefits of standard therapy services within our multidisciplinary clinic and allow our clients to reach their highest potential in their home, school, or community.
