Where do ABA Therapists Practice?

Autism Spectrum Disorder has been silently affecting thousands of families across the United States. With an increase in diagnoses and awareness, ABA Therapy is becoming a sought-after service throughout the country.

There are many different settings and environments where ABA Therapists can practice, including:

Schools

Students and members of the school community can benefit from the services of an ABA Therapist. They provide specialized instruction for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, helping them to be successful in their academic and social lives. Even students without a diagnosis can benefit from ABA Therapy, as it provides strategies and techniques that help them develop appropriate social skills.

Private Homes

As the adage goes, “home is where the heart is”. ABA Therapists have the ability to work with individuals in the comfort of their own homes. This allows for more flexibility in providing services and allows children to learn skills in an environment that feels safe and familiar. Factors such as time, availability, and convenience play an important role in the effectiveness of therapy. Studies show that ABA in the home setting can be particularly effective for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Clinics

The biggest asset for clinic-based ABA Therapists is the ability to work in multidisciplinary settings. By collaborating with Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Behavioral Therapists and other specialists all under one roof, ABA Therapists can take a more comprehensive approach to addressing behavior and mental health issues. Mobile Therapy Centers prides ourselves on multidisciplinary practices and approaches that support one another.

Increased awareness and acceptance of Autism Spectrum Disorder has made ABA Therapy more accessible to communities across the country. With the help of ABA Therapists, the community can take part in a powerful and effective therapy to combat mental health issues.
